Osteopathic Practitioner, Integrative Movement Educator, Neurodiversity Affirming & Strength-Based Learning Specialist
Michelle Stevens is a registered osteopathic practitioner based in Kelowna, B.C., with a deep commitment to understanding how the nervous system shapes our lived experience. With a Bachelor of Science, a Diploma in Osteopathy, training in yoga, Pilates and therapeutic movement, plus ongoing graduate studies in education, Michelle brings a uniquely integrated perspective to every session, one that honours the whole person, not just presenting symptoms.
Her practice is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and evidence-informed care. Whether you are navigating the aftermath of a brain injury, managing the complexities of chronic pain, experiencing the world through a neurodivergent brain, or simply seeking a deeper sense of ease in your body, Michelle provides a calm, unhurried space where healing can genuinely begin. Her approach invites the nervous system to settle, and in that settling, transformation becomes possible.
Michelle is originally from Montreal, where she worked for 20 years as a yoga teacher, Pilates instructor and osteopathic practitioner. The love of movement and meditative practice formed the foundation of her work where she developed a clinical approach rooted in careful listening and whole-body care.
Michelle holds a Bachelor of Science from McGill University and a Diploma in Osteopathy (D.O.) from the Collége d’Études Ostéopathiques (C.E.O.), one of the most rigorous osteopathic programs in Canada. The program aligns with World Health Organization standards and included over 4,200 hours of academic and clinical instruction, along with more than 1,000 hours of supervised clinical training.
Her graduate-level research focused on brain trauma, with particular attention to rehabilitation after stroke. This work deepened her understanding of neurological injury, recovery, and the remarkable adaptability of the human body.
Michelle continues to pursue advanced post-graduate education in cranial osteopathy, concussion care, burnout recovery, trauma, and psycho-neuro-immuno-endocrinology. She is committed to ongoing learning that strengthens her clinical reasoning and refines her hands-on skills.
In addition to her osteopathic education, Michelle is completing graduate-level studies in education to better understand neurodiversity and learning. This training informs her osteopathic approach through a deep appreciation of how neurotype influences physiology, sensory processing, pacing, goal-setting, and the therapeutic process itself.
She loves supporting fellow neurodivergent homeschooling families create neuro-affirming plans for both learning and life.
Our nervous system shapes how we experience pain, recover from injury, and respond to treatment. When it is overwhelmed, healing becomes harder. When it is supported and regulated, the body adapts more effectively.
Michelle's practice begins with neurological attunement -a careful, respectful process of meeting each client's system exactly where it is.
This isn't about doing more. It's about listening more deeply, so that the body's own intelligence can lead the way toward recovery and resilience.
I developed a deep respect for the brain during my graduate research, which focused on rehabilitation post stroke. My post-graduate training has continued to deepen that foundation through advanced study in concussion, trauma, burnout, and psycho-neuro-immuno-endocrinology. I understand the brain not as an isolated organ, but as part of an integrated system influencing hormonal balance, circulation, autonomic and emotional regulation, immune function, cognition, and whole-body resilience.
Osteopathic intervention is careful and precise, supporting neurological recovery in a way that respects the nervous system’s sensitivity while strengthening its capacity over time.
Neurodiversity-affirming care begins with understanding neurotype including sensory needs, cognitive differences, motivation, pacing, and goal setting. Different types of brains shape different types of bodies, influencing muscle tone, autonomic regulation, fatigue patterns, and how treatment is experienced.
My sessions are adapted accordingly and may include movement, positional changes, rhythmic input, sound, or other regulatory supports to align with the individual’s nervous system.
Care is collaborative, respectful, and responsive to each person’s needs.
I work with individuals experiencing persistent or layered pain presentations, including migraine, post-injury patterns, and cases involving neurophysiological complexity. Chronic pain often reflects an interplay between structural strain, nervous system sensitization, and body–mind interactions that evolve over time.
These cases benefit from thoughtful assessment and flexible, creative intervention strategies that adapt as the system responds. My approach remains steady and whole-body focused, supporting regulation while addressing the mechanical contributors to pain.
Osteopathic care is not reserved for complex diagnoses. Anyone can come for any reason, whether addressing pain, improving function, supporting recovery, or simply maintaining well-being.
I work relationally and collaboratively, adapting treatment to each person’s goals, pace, and comfort. My practice includes individuals from newborns to seniors, as well as families, athletes, pregnant women, and those navigating injury, stress, or transition.
Care does not require you to feel “complicated” to benefit. My role is to meet you where you are and support the body’s capacity to adapt, regulate, and move toward greater ease.

I've tried many osteopathic practitioners who are were trained and competent in doing prescribed manipulations. Michelle is all that. But, the real reason I keep returning to her is because she's very in tune with my body. She takes the time to understand my weird descriptions of what I feel and I see her listening and responding to what my body has to say as she treats me . She's skilled and competent and a wonderfully caring and empathetic human being.
Compassionate AND quirky! The best of both.
Michelle is not your typical osteopathic practitioner. If you are used to a cold, clinical treatment, she is the opposite! Over the decade she has been treating me, my family and my extended family, I have come to deeply appreciate her deeply personal style. Everything from the way she talks to my body and the way her dogs will participate in our sessions makes being on Michelle's table a truly unique experience.
I'd love to hear from you. Share a little about what's brought you here and I'll be in touch within two business days.
